Q. What do I need to get service with Intelliverse?
A.A Broadband Ethernet connection such as Cable or DSL, a VoIP adapter (see your Salesperson
for available devices), and an analog phone (if you are only using the ATA device).
Q. Is internet service included?
A. No, internet service is not offered at this time.
Q. Can I make calls to a non-Internet phone?
A. Yes, with Intelliverse, you can make calls to any phone number in the world
(international rates from the U.S. are subject to an additional charge.
Q. Can I use my computer while I talk on the phone?
A. Yes. If you use your Intelliverse ATA as the primary router connected to your DSL or
cable modem, you will have uninterrupted voice communication while other machines are using
network resources.
Q. Is the sound quality of Intelliverse equal to that of my regular phone?
A. Intelliverse offers you digital quality voice operation. The sound quality is relative
to the QoS (quality of service) and bandwidth you may have. All Intelliverse ATAs have QoS
imbedded which helps to prioritize the bandwidth. Audio requires real time and so routers with
QoS can detect this.
Q. I have caller ID now. Will I get the same feature with Intelliverse?
A. Yes, Caller ID will be activated and will tell you what number is calling you. However,
if you have multiple lines coming in on one line, the system will not be able to identify on
which line your caller is coming in on. (Multiple lines to one port).
Q. Can I use Intelliverse when I travel?
A. Intelliverse is great for international travel. It can be used anywhere in the world,
as long as you have access to a broadband Internet connection.
Q. What happens to my service if I move?
A. You can use Intelliverse anywhere in the world, as long as you have a broadband Internet
connection in your new location. Your Intelliverse phone number will follow you wherever you go.
International rates may apply.
Q. If my house loses power/electricity, can I still use Intelliverse?
A. No. Since Intelliverse is connected to the Internet, and your computer is generated by
electricity, then you will not have the ability to make or receive calls through Intelliverse.
In this instance, you will either need to use your cell phone or a landline phone service.
Q. If I have a videophone, does the person I call have to have one in order to see me?
A. Currently, if you have a Intelliverse Wooksung or OJO videophone, your phone recipient
will also have to have the same Intelliverse Wooksung or OJO phone in order to see you.
Q. Can Intelliverse work on a Wireless system?
A. As long as there is a wireless modem connected to the ATA, this will work. However, if
you are in a building (for example) that is wireless, this most likely will not work since you
don't have access to the modem in this case.
Q. Can I have Intelliverse with a dial up?
A. No. You will have to have a broadband connection.
Q. Can I use my computer while I talk on the phone?
A. Yes. If you use your Intelliverse ATA as the primary router connected to your DSL or
cable modem, you will have uninterrupted voice communication while other machines are using
network resources.
Q. Will I be able to access my Intelliverse account from my Macintosh® computer?
A. Yes, Intelliverse is an HTML interface that you can access via any web browser. Your
computer's operating system and platform do not affect its functionality.
Q. Does Intelliverse work with Internet service delivered by satellite?
A. Due to the slower transmission rates of satellite service, we do not recommend using it
with Intelliverse because it may result in delays or distortions in your phone calls.
Q. Do you support DIRECTV® and TiVo®?
A. Not at this time.
Q. Do you support Security and Medical emergency systems?
A. Not at this time.
Q. Do you provide 911 service?
A. 911 services are available at no cost, but must be activated separately. We urge all of
our customers to follow the instructions included with the Intelliverse ATA to activate the
free 911 service. As with all broadband phone services, 911 services normally will not work
during a power failure or disruption, or without a working internet connection. Intelliverse
911 service can work during a power failure only if:
- Your landline phone service is activated AND
- Your Intelliverse ATA is plugged into a standard phone jack
Q. If you don't have E911 service in my area, can I still have VoIP?
A. Yes. The alternate route is PSAP911 in areas where E911 is not supported. The difference
is that with E911, you as the user register your address wherever you and your adapter are so
that the local police station can identify where you are. In an emergency, those areas with
E911 will automatically direct emergency support to the location registered. However, with
PSAP911, you have to communicate verbally where you are in the case of an emergency as there
is no automatic connection to the emergency support.
